About a month ago, Brennan and I thought it would be fun to take Ella to the local IFA to show her the baby chicks, ducks, and bunnies. All I can say is she definitely has a love for animals. We had to pull her away kicking and screaming when it was time to leave.
Well, last Friday night I told some friends about this little experience and one of our friends- The Cracrofts- thought it would be a good idea to take her kids on Saturday.
Saturday came and while Ella was taking her nap and Brennan and I were watching Conference the Cracrofts showed up at our door. I opened the door and heard "Chirp, Chirp, Chirp..." and Corey saying he needed a small container. I couldn't believe it. Had Corey and Kim bought Ella a "special" Easter present? You bet! Nothing but a small, very cute, fluffy baby chick. Thank you to Corey and Kim for probably the best present Ella has ever received.
Brennan and I couldn't wait for Ella to wake up. We knew she would freak out when she saw the baby chick. I will let the pictures tell you just how she felt.
To end this story, unfortunately there is not a happy ending. I was a little overwhelmed to have a baby chick. So, I arranged for my brother and sister in law to take the little chick. This arrangement would work better because they had a placed to send it when the baby chick got older. My nieces and nephews enjoyed it for a day. My brother called that night and told me it was loved a little too much. R.I.P. baby chick.
I wonder if she'll be as excited about her new baby brother or sister coming this fall?

CONGRATS! When are you due? How far along are you? I am so excited that we are going to have kids the same age again. We really need to talk. I am driving up to Utah on Friday for a week and would love to get together, and I need to see your house.
Poor little baby chick! Glad she had fun with it though. :)
I think you guys should plan a trip out here for June or early July....what do you think?
Congrats to you too! How exciting! I am due Sept. 7 so I am about 18 weeks. What about you? I find out next week what we are having...I'm excited. I'll be anxious to hear what you are having as well! When did Ella all of a sudden look so old? She is like a mini Cat all of a sudden. So cute! Sorry about the chick....that is a bummer! Hope you are feeling well!
Congratulations! How exciting that you are having #2! Hope you are feeling well!
Congrats on the new baby!!! That is so exciting. I am sure Ella will be a great big sister. I hope you are feeling well. Ella is sure a cutie!
WHAT??? Why do we have to learn these things this way? We have to talk. I have a VERY interesting story to tell you about your little one in Heaven! Congratulations!!!!!
Poor little baby chick. What a sad ending to life. ;) Why don't we both have boys and they can play together? They'll only be a few weeks apart. ;) Guess you'll be finding out soon what you are having? I find out April 30th! Hope you are feeling OK!
So cool that she loves animals, my 2 year old hyperventilates whenever a kitty, doggie...basically anything bigger than a spider moves around her! Love the pics! And that was the nicest post on my blog!! RIGHT BACK AT YOU BABE!
